Easy Pork Chop Recipe


 
 

Apple Orchard Pork Chops

 
Pork chops seasoned and sauteed to brown the outside. Pork chops are placed in a casserole with apples, apple cider, mustard, raisons, green onions and baked until tender.
 
Ingredients -
 
6 Pork Loin Chops, cut 1- 1/2-inches thick
2 teaspoons Vegetable Oil
2 cups Apple Cider or Apple Juice
1/3 cup German-Style Mustard
3 Apples, unpared, cored, sliced 1/2-inch thick
1/2 cup Currants or Raisins
1/2 cup sliced Green Onions
2 tablespoons Cornstarch
1/4 cup Water
 
Preparation:
 
1. In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat.

2. Season pork chops with salt and fresh ground black pepper.

3. Brown pork chops 2 minutes per side.

4. Combine cider and mustard in small bowl.

5. Pour cider mixture over pork chops.

6. Cover skillet. Cook over low heat 45 minutes.

7. Add apples, green onions, and currants.

8. Cover skillet, continue cooking 8-10 minutes.

9. Remove pork chops and apples to serving platter; keep warm.

10. In small bowl, combine cornstarch and water.

11. Pour into cider liquid.

12. Cook and stir until thickened.

13. Pour sauce over pork chops and serve.

German-Style Mustard
German style mustard has a bit of heat, is spicy and sweet. Any mustard will be good here, but the German-style mustard adds great flavor.

Buying Pork Chops
This recipe calls for very thinck pork chops. This is likey a specail order at your grocery store or a trip to the butcher shop. Adjust cooking times down for pork chops of lesser thickness.
